Rosstulla Safeguarding Ethos
At Rosstulla, we believe every child has the right to feel safe, respected, and valued.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. Child protection is part of safeguarding and means the steps we take to prevent harm and protect children who have been harmed or may be at risk of harm.
We do this by creating a caring, child-centred environment where every child is valued for their unique talents and abilities. We listen to every child’s voice. For children who are non-verbal, we provide communication support and make every effort to understand their needs.
Our aim is to give all children the chance to learn and grow to their full potential. All staff—teaching and non-teaching—must stay alert to signs of possible abuse and know what to do if they are worried. This policy explains what action to take and how to make a referral.
We work closely with parents whenever possible, unless this would put a child at risk.
Children and young people will be involved in decisions that affect them. We will support them to share their views and, where possible, seek their consent for activities to achieve their preferred outcomes.
Our full policy is available in the policy section of this website. There is a draft version to include information about Adult safeguarding
